To systematically evaluate the quality of existing patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) for women with uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTIs), applying the COnsensus-based Standards for the selection of health Measurement INstruments (COSMIN) methodology, and to formulate recommendations for their future research application.
A thorough search of relevant literature in PubMed and Web of Science was carried out systematically. Included were studies that reported the creation and/or verification process of Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) for uncomplicated urinary tract infections in women. Using the COSMIN Risk of Bias Checklist, we examined the methodological quality of every included study, and subsequently applied predetermined criteria for proper measurement qualities. Ultimately, the evidence was examined, and recommendations were produced to guide the utilization of the included PROMs.
Included in the analysis were data points from 23 studies, each focusing on six PROMs. The Acute Cystitis Symptom Score (ACSS) and the Urinary Tract Infection-Symptom and Impairment Questionnaire (UTI-SIQ-8) stand out as recommended measures for subsequent use from the identified group. Both instruments demonstrated substantial content validity. The UTI-SIQ-8 demonstrated high internal consistency, as evidenced by our findings, but this assessment was not applicable to the ACSS due to its formative measurement model. Recommendations for all other PROMs hinge upon the outcome of further validation processes.
In future clinical trials, the ACSS and UTI-SIQ-8 could potentially be recommended for use in women experiencing uncomplicated UTIs. All included PROMs necessitate further validation studies.

Wheat's normal development, including root growth, depends on the trace element boron (B). The roots of wheat plants are instrumental in the process of absorbing water and nutrients. Currently, the molecular mechanisms by which short-term boron stress influences wheat root growth are not well-characterized.
The iTRAQ technique was utilized to analyze and compare the proteomic profiles of wheat roots exposed to short-term boron deficiency and toxicity, pinpointing the optimal boron concentration conducive to root growth. Tuberculosis treatment can sometimes trigger paradoxical reactions (PR) and the consequent inflammatory condition, immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome (IRIS). As a primary treatment approach for severe cases of PR or IRIS, especially when there is neurological impact, corticosteroids are commonly employed. Four patients receiving tuberculosis treatment developed severe paradoxical reactions or immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome (IRIS), prompting TNF-alpha antagonist use. A review of the literature subsequently revealed twenty additional comparable cases. The group demographic was comprised of 14 females and 10 males, possessing a median age of 36 years, with an interquartile age range of 28 to 52 years. Of the twelve individuals diagnosed with tuberculosis, pre-existing immunocompromised states included six with untreated HIV infection, five receiving immunosuppressive therapy with TNF-antagonists, and one receiving tacrolimus.
