It is shown that the high selectivity of a 2D Bragg resonator over the azimuthal index originates from the topological difference in the dispersion diagrams of the normal symmetrical and nonsymmetrical waves near the Bragg resonance frequency in a double-periodic corrugated unbounded waveguide. For a symmetrical mode near the Bragg frequency it was found that the group velocity tends to zero as well as its first derivative. This peculiarity of the dispersion GSI-IX concentration characteristic provides the conditions for the formation of an eigenmode with a Q-factor essentially
exceeding the Q-factors of other modes. The results of the theoretical analysis coincide well with results of 3D simulations using the CST code “”MICROWAVE STUDIO”" and confirm the high azimuthal PP2 clinical trial selectivity of the system. “BACKGROUND Ionic liquids are regarded as potential substitutes for volatile organic solvents. Thus, gaining knowledge about their biological properties is an important task.
The main aim of this work was to estimate the biodegradability of newly synthesized tetra- and completely substituted imidazolium ionic liquids. Additionally, the kinetic parameters for the biological treatment of wastewater containing one of these ionic liquids were determined. RESULTS The results of OECD tests showed that none of the ionic liquids studied can be classified as readily Panobinostat solubility dmso or inherently biodegradable. The tetra-substituted ionic liquid with the longest alkyl side chain consisting of six carbon atoms was more susceptible to biodegradation than the other ionic liquids tested. The values of Monod kinetic parameters estimated for the biological treatment of wastewater containing one of these ionic liquids were usually in the range of the values determined for municipal wastewater. CONCLUSION Newly synthesized tetra- and completely substituted imidazolium ionic liquids are not susceptible to microbial decomposition. At the same time their presence in wastewater neither reduces the growth rate of activated sludge biomass nor decreases the affinity

“Managing arrhythmias is challenging in patients who have undergone heterotopic heart transplantation because of the superimposed rhythms of the native and donor hearts. We present the case of a 43-year-old man with a previously placed biventricular pacemaker who underwent heterotopic heart transplantation and later developed acute rejection of the donor heart, which led to bradycardia and pause-dependent ventricular fibrillation. The patient remained clinically stable in the short term, likely because of partial recovery of myocardial function in the native heart. He later underwent placement of a pacing lead in the donor heart, allowing linking of the two hearts via a biventricular pacemaker. J Heart Lung Transplant 2009; 28:294-6.
